Message cost particularly in high tech, large scale production items. Still, computer models have been proven wrong many times in the real world. The Hubble telescope comes to mind.

You have to have faith in the quality of the info used for the data and input, and the physics involved are extremely complex. Running a model is the easy part. Knowing how to apply the engineering, data and formulas you used to put the model together is another story, and simply out of reach to the average independent fabricator. Large corporations with whole engineering departments can barely get it right at times.

The market for a product such as this is very, very small. The realistic way folks are going to find out if it works is by making a prototype, bolting it on, measuring horsepower, and trial and error.
